Borys Makary
Borys Makary, a photographer born in 1977 in Poland. He does conceptual, creative photography, which comments on reality. His projects show his interest in human nature, above all woman's. He wants to capture and define femininity. He searches for interesting and intriguing methods of imagery, and treats in an innovative way not only photography as a medium, but also the topics he explores.
He holds an MA degree in Visual Arts, and is a graduate of the Department of Photography in the Faculty of Multimedia Communication at the University of Arts in Poznań. He learnt fashion photography from Miles Aldridge and at the International Center of Photography in New York. He has been an assistant of the fashion photographer Richard Warren.
Borys Makary has exhibited his works in Paris, where they were shown at FOTOFEVER exhibition in the Louvre, as well as at the NUE Gallery. His works have also been displayed at the WeArt festival in Barcelona, Photo Independent in Los Angeles and many exhibitions in Poland.
Since 2012 he has received numerous international awards in photography competitions in the USA and Europe, including three medals at Prix de la Photographie Paris 2013 – for advertising campaigns as well as his original projects.
